State Senator District 47
Kate is no stranger to the PA 47th Senatorial District. She was raised in a strong union household, attended the University of Vermont and then received her Juris Doctorate from Pitt’s School of Law. Kate and her late husband raised their four children in the Mars Area. She was very active in the community with youth sports and at the schools. Kate served on the board for My School Preschool, the Mars Area Soccer Club, and the MASD PTO. Kate is currently affiliated with Myers Law Group, LLC. In addition to her legal career and volunteer activities, Kate has been an advocate for democratic values and involved in campaigning for democratic candidates since the age of 14. Kate intends to be able to promote democratic values in the PA Senate.
Americans respect the right to privacy, and it is long past the time for bureaucrats to stop regulating citizen’s reproductive and fertility matters. A stranger in Harrisburg can’t know what’s best for your family. As your voice, I can speak for thousands of people in this district who want this issue to be removed from governmental interference.
My goal in Harrisburg would be to invest in education. I will advocate for equitable funding of schools. I understand the importance of instilling a love of learning in toddlers and will fight to ensure that children of every ability obtain the best education possible. Educators also deserve safe, stable, and healthy work environments.
Funding for mass transit is critical for a vibrant community and economy. Buses assist adults, senior citizens, and students in getting to work, school, shopping, and health appointments. The environmental effects of fewer cars on the road are yet another reason why I support this service.
